Ras Al Khaimah has a long and illustrious history that goes back approximately 7,000 years. In the region that is now known as Ras Al Khaimah, a prosperous port developed between the 13th and 14th centuries.

Ras Al Khaimah is ruled by Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, who took office on October 27, 2010, following the death of his father.

There are approximately 1,000 archaeological sites in Ras Al Khaimah, and four of them have been included on the "UNESCO Tentative List for World Heritage."

The city of Ras Al Khaimah is the capital of the emirate, A river separates it into two regions, the western old town of Ras Al Khaimah and the eastern part - Al Nakheel.

Al Jazirah Al Hamra, Digdaga, Khatt, and Masafi are additional important towns. Masafi is known for its mineral water and shares its borders with the emirate of Fujairah.

Al Marjan Island is a group of four man-made coral-shaped islands south of the emirate that provide lodging, residence, and lifestyle attractions. 

Ras Al Khaimah is strategically located next to the Strait of Hormuz and stretches along the Gulf shore.

Ras Al Khaimah is a remarkable new travel industry center point, It has grand areas with assorted scenes going from moving sand ridges, waterfront strips, salt pads, mangroves, and mountains.

The emirate is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including foxes, jerboas, and hundreds of bird species, and there are sulfur springs nearby.

Ras Al Khaimah is home to Jebel Jais, the UAE's highest peak. It is the location of the longest zipline in the world, as verified by Guinness World Records, and stands 1,934 meters tall.
